Hubris in 140 Characters or Less

Of the many qualities you could attribute to Rep. Joe Barton (TX), self-confidence would be near the top of the list. It definitely takes a certain level of self-assurance to feel you've won a battle of wits with a Nobel Prize-winning physicist and former director of the Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory.

But it appears Mr. Barton would like people to know he "baffled" Energy Secretary Steven Chu at today's hearing in the House Energy and Commerce Committee, at least according to his Twitter feed.

Judge for yourself, but it appears that the only thing that baffles Mr. Chu is Mr. Barton's shockingly poor grasp of rudimentary geology (via Think Progress).
